Yesterday I went to see Carina Seth Andersson in her fantastic studio in Gustavsberg just outside Stockholm. I love going there, it is so beautiful and inspiring..and this time I brought som of her pots with me to sell in Lotta Agaton Shop. Yey!

My new assistant!

I am so flattered and greatful to all talented, brilliant and sweet persons who has applied to the job as my new assistant. I know I wrote that you could apply until the 1st of June but since I have made up my mind already I find it most polite to inform you now. I hope I didn't miss to email anyone who has already applied, and to those of you who didn't apply yet but planned to, you could still send me your CV if you want to since I need extra assistants from time to time but the full time place is unfortunately already added.
I am super excited and look forward to have Sara Mortensen come working with me this fall. Välkommen Sara!

Working process

I have been thinking a lot about the collaboration between Patricia Urquiola and the Italian brand Moroso. I beleive that they work quite diffrent than most other companies in the furniture industry. I think that their longterm relationship and the way they have developed and experimented with their working process, materials and colours during many years now has been the ground and key to Morosos big success and has also given Patricia Urquiola the freedom to grow as a designer. A win win situation. Nevertheless these kind of collaborations is very rare in the furniture industry. We see a lot of similar working processes in the fashion industry. The big fashion houses always sign up with big names to help them develop their  brands on a longterm basis.
In interiors I have a feeling that when a designer raises like for example Nendo did a few years ago all of a sudden he does furnitures for about 20 diffrent companies but only one piece every here and there. I wonder what would happen if we worked  more like fashion (and Moroso) does. What would Nendo do for a company if they let him experiment and develop freely for several years? I think the brands would be more individual and stronger and that the designers would become more brave if they had a design-playground instead of just making safe one-pieces and spend so much time handling all their diffrent clients.

Interior fashion

I find it very interesting that there is hardly any interior shop that pays as much attention to their interiors as the fashion industry does at the moment. Beckmans 2013

I have been lecturing at Beckmans Akademi in Stockholm for two weekends and I have had so much fun with my 20 students who have all been so sweet, brave and talented. Last sunday's task was to create a picture for Therese Sennerholts new postcards that was photographed at Delight studios by Kristofer Johnson. I must say that all my students did an excellent job but we choose these two pictures styled by Anniqa Nelander and Jenny Hjalmarson Boldsen to be the official pictures for the new postcards that will be launched tomorrow.
